About Antigua & Barbuda
Antigua & Barbuda is located along the outer edge of the Leeward Islands chain in the West Indies and comprises the islands of Antigua (where the capital St John’s is located), Barbuda and Redonda, the latter being uninhabited. Tourism is the main economic activity accounting directly or indirectly for more than half of GDP. The agriculture, forestry and fishing sector accounts for about 4 per cent of both employment and GDP, industry 18 per cent and the services sector 78 per cent and the services sector 78 per cent. In 2004, there were 267, 626 stay-over visitors and 522, 744 cruise-ship passengers, who spent $337 million.
