Content Strategist & Digital Media Consultant

Announcement of Vacancy: 

Suitably qualified citizens of the Member States and Associate Members of the Association of Caribbean States are invited to apply for the position of Content Strategist & Digital Media Consultant at the ACS Secretariat at its headquarters in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago.

Duration of appointment:

Duties and responsabilities: 
  • Development and production of multimedia content in order to increase effectiveness of media reach & visibility,
  • Web-related activities, including transfer to the new website and social media in outreach; and
  • Integrating digital components into all aspects of implementation of the Communications Strategy.
Specific Responsabilities: 

Content Strategist

  • Development of one (1) content strategy
  • Elaboration of a monthly editorial plan
  • Drafting of one (1) speech preparation guide for the assistants

 

Creation and writing of content (in English and French, ideally also in Spanish)

  • Editorial management of the cooperation magazine (the annual magazine) planned for the Cooperation Conference: collection of contents, harmonisation and writing of complementary articles in line with the editorial plan;
  • Writing of two monthly newsletters (quantity 2 times a month);
  • Drafting of press releases (minimum quantity 2 per month);
  • Drafting of press kits (specifically for events or flagship projects);

 

Website content management: copywriting, articles and press release integration

  • Writing and integration of articles on the website (quantity 2 per month)
  • Proofreading of articles submitted by ACS staff (2 per month)
  • Writing and managing the content of the homepage and the presentation texts of the site's sections (as part of the renewal of the site planned for the first quarter of 2023)
  • Monthly, quarterly and annual statistical reports

 

Management of social networks

  • Drafting and publication of posts on social networks (3 per week per social media): Facebook, Linkedin, Instagram and Twitter
  • Monthly, quarterly and annual statistical report
Minimum qualifications: 
  • At least a Bachelor’s Degree in journalism, marketing, social science, communication or a related field.
  • Proven professional experience of at least five years in writing and content development for international organisations or media.

 

Work experience

  • At least 5 years of experience in journalism and/or writing features for the web;
  • Demonstrated experience in maintaining social media accounts, especially Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Linkedin, as well as experience with new media executions, preferably with a development organisation; knowledge and understanding of local and global digital landscape and trends;
  • Experience with graphic design, ability to create designs for digital media purposes in open source graphic design programmes, such as Canva;
  • Ability to integrate PR/communication initiatives with social media;
  • Experience developing compelling content to generate response from audiences online;
  • Experience in reporting on qualitative and quantitative analytics;
  • Experience taking quality photographs and basic photo editing skills;
Remuneration package: 

A monthly payment of $2,000.00 United States Dollars (tax free) shall be made to the consultant upon the submission and certification of the agreed deliverables by the assigned supervisor.

Proposals from candidates should include:

  1. Cover letter that includes an Indication of availability to carry out the Consultancy for the duration of the period;
  2. One non-academic writing sample in English (on Climate change, Cooperation related story, journalistic piece, etc);
  3. Two samples of images produced for social media;
  4. Curriculum vitae, stating nationality and foreign language proficiency (i.e. basic/intermediate/fluent).
