ACS meets with the Brazilian Cooperation Agency and the Ministry of Integration and Regional Development of Brazil

ACS Secretary General, H.E. Rodolfo Sabonge, met with the National Secretary for Civil Defence and Protection of the Ministry of Integration and Regional Development, Mr. Wolnei Wolff, the Minister and General Coordinator for Humanitarian Cooperation of the Brazilian Cooperation Agency, Mr. José Solla Vásquez Júnior, and the Counsellor of the Brazilian Embassy to Trinidad and Tobago, Mr. André Rosa Bueno.
During the meeting, Secretary General Sabonge gave a brief explanation of the ACS, its priorities and areas of work, and detailed the different cooperation initiatives that the ACS seeks to implement by 2024. Likewise, National Secretary Wolnei Wolff reaffirmed Brazil's commitment to establish cooperation ties with the ACS and the Greater Caribbean region in all sectors, with special emphasis on disaster risk reduction and early warning systems.
In closing, Secretary General gave an overview of the upcoming ACS statutory meetings to be held in Paramaribo, Suriname.
The meeting was also attended by ACS Director of Disaster Risk Reduction, Environment, Sustainable Tourism and the Caribbean Sea, Ana Leticia Ramirez Cuevas and ACS Officer in Charge of Cooperation and Resource Mobilisation, Lisa Douglas-Paul, as well as other ACS administrative and technical support staff.
