ACS Secretary General, Rodolfo Sabonge, met with the Founder and President of the Institute for Women’s Health, Ms. Valerie Huber. This meeting was suggested by Minister Mario Bucaro, former Chair of the ACS Ministerial Council, to discuss work to expand women's health while respecting the sovereignty and cultural values of countries.

The Secretary General recognized the excellent work and the remarkable progress that the IWH has made in advocating and working with governments on policies designed to expand women’s optimum health and well-being, as well as building coalitions to revolutionize women’s access to healthcare.

It was also noted that the ACS, through its Plan of Action 2022-2028 has made a commitment to improving and protecting the wellbeing of the most vulnerable in the Greater Caribbean region, including women with limited or no access to healthcare, thus synergies were identified.

Agreeing that more Caribbean countries should be part of this coalition, they discussed opportunities for joint collaboration between the ACS and the Institute for Women's Health.
