ACS Secretary General meets with new Ambassador of Spain
Port of Spain (March 25, 2010) – The Secretary General of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS), Ambassador Luis Fernando Andrade Falla recently received a courtesy visit from His Excellency Joaquín de Arístegui, newly appointed Ambassador of Spain to the Republic of Trinidad & Tobago.
The ACS Secretary General welcomed the opportunity to provide Ambassador de Arístegui with an update on key developments in the ACS focal areas of Sustainable Tourism, Trade, Transport, Disaster Risk Reduction, as well as the Caribbean Sea Commission.
The Ambassador of Spain reiterated his government’s interest in cooperating with the ACS and the discussions were focused on areas of mutual interest to further develop cooperation and collaboration between Spain and the ACS. It is expected that proposals for specific projects will be evaluated shortly.
Spain is an Observer Country to the ACS. The other Observer Countries are: Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile Ecuador, Egypt, Finland, India, Italy, the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Korea, Morocco, Peru, Russia, Turkey, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom.
