President of Haiti, H.E. Michel Joseph Martelly engages in talks with Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business

(Mt. Hope, December 9th 2011) The President of the Republic of Haiti, H.E. Michel Joseph Martelly, Minister of Foreign Affairs for Haiti, H.E. Mr. Laurent Lamothe, Ambassador of Haiti to CARICOM, Ambassador John Patrick Alexis and the Secretary General of the Association of Caribbean States Ambassador Luis Fernando Andrade Falla visited the Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business where they met with Professor Miguel Carrillo to discuss Haiti’s interest in doing business with Trinidad and Tobago.
President Martelly addressed the attendees and expressed his interest in welcoming business and investment to Haiti as he seeks to position and develop Haiti as a viable destination for foreign investment. On this note it was decided that Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business along with the ACS will visit Haiti on January 14th 2012 to promote business and ascertain the possibility of opening a graduate school in this country.
Furthermore, Haiti expressed its interest in building closer ties with Guatemala and agreed to send a delegation to the Central American country to promote Haiti-Guatemala relations. When asked on which sector Haiti is seeking most investment, President Martelly responded with construction which is crucial to the development of proper buildings and infrastructure to facilitate the necessary business.
President Martelly thanked Secretary General Andrade Falla for the work of the ACS in facilitating this engagement with the business community. Subsequently President Martelly and the rest of the delegation were given a tour of the ALJ Graduate School where he interacted with the staff and students in very cordial spirits.
