Secretary General of the ACS made a presentation at the 1st High Level Forum on Korea-Caribbean Partnership

(Seoul, Korea, October 5th - 6th 2011) The Foreign Minister of the Republic of Korea, Minister Kim Sung Huam hosted the 1st High Level Forum on Korea-Caribbean Partnership where several ministerial officials from the Caribbean as well as the ACS Secretary General Luis Fernando Andrade Falla were in attendance.
The Forum aimed to facilitate in-depth discussions on fostering strategic development of the Caribbean Region in addition to highlighting ways in which Korea and the Caribbean can cooperate in the areas of energy and green growth. Other matters of discussion included information and communication technology, disaster management, education and other industries.
Secretary General Falla had the honour of reciprocating on behalf of the Caribbean delegates the welcome remarks of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea, Kim Hwang-sik on the forum to strengthen relations. Thereafter, he made his presentation on the ACS and its objectives on promoting regional cooperation and the integration process. He outlined some of the projects of the ACS with emphasis on the Caribbean Sea Initiative (CSI), Caribbean Sea Commission (CSC), the Sustainable Tourism Work Programme (STWP) and the Association of Caribbean Cruise Ship Destinations (ACCD).
His presentation served to assure those in attendance of the commitment of the ACS to consolidate and support the Korea-Caribbean partnership
