Secretary General of the ACS attends the 32nd Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of CARICOM.
Port of Spain (July 4th, 2011) – Secretary General of the Association of Caribbean States Ambassador Luis Fernando Andrade Falla attended the Opening Ceremony of the 32nd Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), 1 – 4 July 2011, Basseterre, St. Kitts and Nevis.
The Secretary General took the opportunity to discuss issues relating to the Caribbean Sea Commission with CARICOM Member Countries such as Barbados and Belize. He further addressed matters such as the Meteorological project being undertaken with an Observer Country, Finland as well as other matters pertaining to the Caribbean Development Bank.
He also met with the former Secretary General of CARICOM, Edwin Carrington as well as the Vice Chancellor of the University of the West Indies, Nigel Harris.
The Secretary General distributed copies of the ACS 10th Edition Book, ‘Promoting the Sustainable Development of the Caribbean’ to the Head of the CARICOM delegation.
