Secretary General Múnera congratulates President of France on victory in general elections

Port of Spain (May 18, 2012) – The Secretary General of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS), Ambassador Alfonso Múnera Cavadía, congratulated the newly elected President of the French Republic, the Honourable Mr. François Hollande, on his victory in the general elections held on Sunday, May 6.
“I have the honour to congratulate you in response to your recent election as President of your country.” Secretary General Múnera wrote in a letter to President Hollande.
Secretary General Múnera thanked the French President for his country’s interest the projects executed by the ACS, “The French Republic is an active and appreciated member of the ACS. This country has demonstrated a strong interest in the projects of this organisation. The Secretariat looks forward to continuing our working relationship through the Embassy of France in Port of Spain.”
President Hollande is the leader of the Socialist Party. The last Socialist President to govern France was François Mitterand from 1981-1995.
