ACS DIRECTOR IS KEYNOTE SPEAKER AT TOC AMERICAS
Cartagena, Colombia (October 14th 2014) - The Association of Caribbean States (ACS) through its Directorate of Transport and Disaster Risk Reduction, along with several stakeholders in the port and maritime industry including Maersk Line, Peel Ports, Hamburg Sud and DP World will meet in Cartagena, Colombia from October 14th- 16th 2014 for the TOC Americas Conference and Exhibition. The three-day event will showcase Exhibitions on Port Technology, Container Supply Chain (CSC) Conferences, Cold Chain Conferences and TECH TOC Conferences which will feature a renewed focus on supply chain.
TOC Americas, with its inception in Miami in 2001, has since evolved into the leading business and networking event for ports, terminals, shipping lines, 3PLs & shippers. This year’s event will exhibit the latest port operations equipment and technology solutions while the CSC Conference Sessions will focus on international trade, container shipping and port development. Furthermore, conferences convened to facilitate discussion on Cold Chain, will provide participants with the business tools needed to achieve greater reliability and efficiency in the area of cargo refrigeration. Another key element of this event will be the scheduling of TECH TOC Conference Sessions which will bring together stakeholders to share experiences and expertise for solutions to current and future challenges.
TOC Americas also provides key networking opportunities for participants, as the event facilitates communication between terminal operators, equipment and technology manufacturers as well as solution providers and consultants. As a result, TOC has introduced several initiatives for this event to promote dialogue and innovation including port tours and an online networking zone.
Mr. George Nicholson, Director of Transport and Disaster Risk Reduction of the ACS is one of the keynote speakers of this event and will be joined by other keynote speakers relevant to the port and maritime industry including Ms. Natalia Abello Vives, Minister of Transport of Colombia and Mr. Jean-Paul Rodrigue, Department of Global Studies & Geography, Hofstra University.
