Secretary General of the ACS addresses the Heads of Diplomatic Missions of the European Union

(Port of Spain, October 20th 2011) The Secretary General of the ACS, Luis Fernando Andrade Falla did a presentation to the Heads of Delegations of the European Union at the European Union Head Office, Port of Spain. In attendance were Mr. Stelios Christopoulos, Chargé d’affaires, a.i. of the Delegation of the European Commission to Trinidad and Tobago; Michel Trinquier, Ambassador of France in Trinidad and Tobago, His Excellency Joaquín de Arístegui, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain in Trinidad and Tobago, Her Excellency Lucita Moeniralam, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Trinidad and Tobago, His Excellency Arthur Snell, High Commissioner of the British High Commission in Trinidad and Tobago, His Excellency Stefan Schlüter, Ambassador of Germany in Trinidad and Tobago and Eduardo Gonzalez Angulo, Director of Transport of the ACS.
The Secretary General briefed the delegations on the history, role and objectives of the ACS. He further apprised on the agenda of the ACS in the four focal areas which are; Sustainable Tourism, Trade, Transport and Disaster Risk Reduction as well as the Caribbean Sea Commission.
Ambassador Andrade Falla thanked the delegations for their continued support and expressed interest in strengthening cooperation between the two organisations.
The European Union was accepted into the ACS as an Observer Organisation at the 14th Ordinary Meeting of the ACS Ministerial Council, Port au Prince, Haiti in January 2009.
