Secretary General of the ACS will attend the 17th Conference of the Presidents of the Ultra-peripheral Region, Martinique
(Martinique, November 3rd - 4th 2011) Secretary General Luis Fernando Andrade Falla of the ACS will attend the 17th Conference of the Presidents of the Ultra-peripheral Region which will take place on November 3rd and 4th, 2011 in Fort-de-France, Martinique.
The meeting will address issues facing the Ultra-peripheral region (RUP) and facilitate an exchange of ideas and solutions among the Member States. Some of the areas under discussion include the future challenges with RUP-European Union relations in addition to RUP-ACP cooperation. The meeting also presents an opportunity to foster dialogue and cooperation on the coordination of funds for RUP-ACP related projects.
The Secretary General is invited to participate in the discussions on how the RUP can be better integrated with neighbouring countries and other inter-regional bodies.
This event will be hosted by President Serge Letchimy of Martinique and attended by the Presidents of the Azores Islands, the Canary Islands, Guadeloupe, French Guiana, Madeira, Reunion Island and Saint Martin including high officials from the European Affairs in France, Portugal and Spain, head of the Regional Politics of the European Commission and the Secretary General of the ACP
