ACS Secretary-General receives Courtesy Call from Newly Appointed Panamanian Ambassador

Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago – March 12, 2025 – he Secretary-General of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS), H.E. Ambassador Noemí Espinoza Madrid, received at the ACS headquarters the courtesy visit of H.E. Diomedes Heraclio Carles Cleghorn, recently appointed as Ambassador of the Republic of Panama to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.

During the meeting, Secretary-General Espinoza Madrid extended a warm welcome to Ambassador Carles in his new capacity and praised Panama's long-standing and active participation in the ACS, and recognized the distinguished tenure of Mr. Rodolfo Sabonge, a Panamanian who served as the seventh Secretary-General of the ACS.

Secretary-General Espinoza shared her vision of revitalizing the ACS, which aims to build a stronger and more strategic Greater Caribbean.

Panama currently holds the Vice-Presidency of the Caribbean Sea Commission, and due to its strategic role as a global trade and logistics hub, its participation in ACS initiatives—particularly in trade, transport, and sustainable development—is essential to ensure that regional policies reflect the interests of all Member States.
