Role & Objectives of the Directorate The 4th Summit of Heads of State and Government held in Panama City on July 29, 2005, addressed the importance of air and maritime transport in the Greater Caribbean, recognising it as a channel for strengthening regional ties, especially in the areas of trade and tourism. In that regard, the ACS was highlighted as an instrument for tackling the main challenges encountered by air and maritime transport in the framework of the Association’s programme: Uniting the Caribbean by Air and Sea.
