6th Meeting of the Executive Board of The Caribbean Sea Commission

The 6th Meeting of the Executive Board of The Caribbean Sea Commission was held virtually on 9th April 2024. The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Caribbean Sea Commission, Jesus Guerra Bell, Senior Policy Specialist of the Directorate of International Relations at the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment of the Republic of Cuba, the Vice-Chairs of the Caribbean Sea Commission, Maribel Pinto, Head of the Department of Adaptation of the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Panama, Trecy Losbar, Head of Mission of Territorial Diplomacy, Regional Council of Guadeloupe, the Officer in Charge of the Directorate for Disaster Risk Reduction, Sustainable Tourism, Caribbean Sea and the Environment (DDTCE), Cherisse Braithwaite-Joseph. The Secretariat Headquarters of the ACS in its capacity as Rapporteur was represented by Administrative Assistant (DDTCE), Samantha Snaggs.
The Caribbean Sea Commission's ongoing initiatives were the main topic of discussion. The meeting also discussed upcoming events in Suriname, including the 16th Business Forum of the Greater Caribbean, the 8th International Cooperation Conference, and the 29th Ordinary Meeting of the Ministerial Council. These events are significant to enhance relations and foster economic and political cooperation within the region and will culminate in the commemoration of the Association's 30th Anniversary.
The meeting was also attended by the Managing Director of the Worldview International Foundation, Nick Laidlaw, and Mercado InterCuentas Vice President of Investments and Institutional Relationships, Javier Arias Iriarte.
