ACS and AMEXCID strengthen partnership

The Secretary General Rodolfo Sabonge held a meeting with Gloria Sandoval, Director General of Execution of Projects Abroad of AMEXCID to discuss the progress of the ongoing partnership and projects between the two parties. Discussions were held to build risk management capacities in ACS member countries. Discussions centered on the importance of harmonizing existing national and regional disaster management initiatives, strategizing and using the region’s resources effectively to add value to the citizens of the Greater Caribbean who face shared hazards. Preventing duplication in efforts among different actors in the face of increasing regional impacts was raised as a challenge. The urgent need for sargassum management was also discussed and the parties committed to having further discussions on possibilities for partnership and collaboration, due to Mexico’s experience and expertise with sargassum management.
