ACS Secretary General extends condolences on the passing of Nelson Mandela
The Secretariat of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS) presents its compliments to the High Commission for South Africa in Port of Spain, Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, and has the honour to refer to the untimely passing of former President of South Africa, Dr. Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela, Tata Madiba.
In this regard, the Secretariat has further the honour to request that the following message be transmitted, on behalf of His Excellency Ambassador Alfonso Múnera, Secretary General of the ACS, to the Honourable Maite Nkoana-Mashabane, Minister of International Relations and Cooperation:

The ACS Secretariat wishes to extend sincerest condolences to Dr. Mandela’s family for their great loss, as well as to the Government and People of South Africa at this time of grief.
Undoubtedly, Tata Madiba will be remembered as an extraordinary patriot who dedicated his life as the father of South Africa's democracy, and a visionary, an inspiring freedom fighter, who has left an exemplary legacy of integrity and sacrifice in the defence of human rights.
There's no doubt that the "Madiba magic" that moved South Africa, also touched the world with a message of unity, reconciliation, generosity of spirit and collective leadership.
