The ACS in collaboration with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the CARICOM Implementing Agency for Crime and Security (IMPACS), invites its Members and Associate Members to participate in a one-day course on tourism safety and security in the Greater Caribbean.

Targeted at policymakers, policy implementers and communications specialists, the course will build capacity in formulating and managing tourism safety and security policies. By the end of the training session, participants will have improved skills in:

(a) enhancing safety and security plans;

(b) crafting strategies to adapt to crises affecting tourism in the region; and

(c) fostering increased dialogue to protect lives and livelihoods through tourism in the Greater Caribbean.

This capacity building opportunity is being coordinated by the ACS Secretariat, and is in keeping with its wider mandate to encourage consultation, cooperation and concerted action, in order to enhance the quality of life in the Greater Caribbean. Further, the course underscores the significance of pursuing sustainable tourism development, by emphasizing a holistic approach to managing visitor safety and security considerations in times of COVID-19 and beyond. Members and Associate Members to participate in a one-day course on tourism safety and security in the Greater Caribbean.
