Minister of Foreign Affairs and Communication of Trinidad and Tobago pledges participation and support to the ACS

Port of Spain (May 7, 2012) – The Secretary General of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS), Ambassador Alfonso Múnera Cavadía met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Communications of Trinidad and Tobago, Dr Surujrattan Rambachan at the head office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Port of Spain.
Minister Rambachan engaged Secretary General Múnera in discussions on Trinidad and Tobago’s unconditional participation and support to the ACS. It was proposed that the ACS use the Trinidad and Tobago media as a platform for promoting the work of the ACS in this country and the rest of the region.
Other topics of discussion included the V ACS Summit which will tentatively take place in November in Haiti as well as the 24th Special Committee Meeting on Budget and Administration.
The meeting concluded with Minister Rambachan assuring Secretary General Múnera of Trinidad and Tobago’s commitment to working along with the ACS in increasing the visibility and viability of the Association.
Trinidad and Tobago is the Host country of the ACS Headquarters in Port of Spain.
