New Cuban Ambassador meets with ACS Secretary General

Port of Spain (November 9, 2009) – The Secretary General of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS), Ambassador Luis Fernando Andrade Falla met today with H.E. Humberto Rivero Rosario, newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.
Ambassador Rivero, who assumed office on November 1 2009, discussed with the Secretary General a broad range of issues of mutual interest to strengthen the integration process and cooperation in the Greater Caribbean. Ambassador Andrade also used the opportunity to update the Cuban Ambassador on recent developments in the ACS focal areas of Trade, Transport, Sustainable Tourism and Disaster Risk Reduction, as well as the Caribbean Sea Commission.
The Republic of Cuba currently occupies the position of Vice-Chairman of the ACS Ministerial Council and Vice-Chairman of the Special Committee for Transport.
