Secretariat Extends Greetings to Panama on Separation Anniversary

The Association of Caribbean States wishes The Republic of Panama a happy celebration on the Anniversary of Separation.
Panama formally separated from Colombia on 3 November 1903 to establish itself as a Republic. At the same time as declaring its independence from Spain in 1821, Panama decided to join La Gran Colombia through the Act of Independence of Panama. On 28 November next, 200 years of independence from Spain will be commemorated.
Panama is a founding Member of the ACS, is serving as Vice-Chair of the Special Committee on Transport and the serving Secretary General, Rodolfo Sabonge, is from Panama.
