Port of Spain (July 4th, 2011) – Twenty-three students reading the M.Sc Programme in Global Studies at the University of the West Indies, along with their Professor,  visited the ACS Secretariat on July 4th, 2011.

The Secretary General, Ambassador Luis Fernando Andrade Falla briefed the students on the history, activities, future and role of this organization in the context of regional integration.

The presentation was followed by a barrage of questions, all of which were appropriately addressed by the Secretary General.

The University of the West Indies signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Association of Caribbean States on April 13th. The signing of this MOU has opened co-operation to other focal areas of the ACS in which both entities can further strengthen their synergies, as they have developed the agenda of the Caribbean Sea.
