ACS Secretary-General and Saint Kitts and Nevis Foreign Minister Discuss Regional Priorities

Bridgetown, Barbados — February 20, 2025 — In the context of the 48th Regular Meeting of the CARICOM Heads of Government, the Secretary-General of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS), H.E. Noemí Espinoza Madrid, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saint Kitts and Nevis, Dr. Denzil L. Douglas, to discuss key regional matters and strengthen cooperation between the ACS and CARICOM.

During the meeting, Secretary-General Espinoza Madrid reaffirmed her commitment to reinforcing the ACS by fostering closer collaboration with CARICOM. She emphasized the importance of regional unity in addressing shared challenges and advancing common positions on critical issues affecting the Greater Caribbean.

Minister Douglas welcomed this initiative and expressed his enthusiasm for working closely with the ACS to achieve these goals. He highlighted the need to create more opportunities for the region’s people and underscored the importance of addressing urgent challenges such as climate change, disaster preparedness, peace, and tourism. He stressed that these issues must be prioritized on the regional agenda to ensure a coordinated and effective response.

The ACS remains committed to consolidate its partnerships with CARICOM and its Member States to advance the collective interests of the Greater Caribbean region.
