ACS Secretary-General Meets with President of Martinique’s Executive Council to Discuss Regional Priorities

Bridgetown, Barbados – February 20, 2025 – On the sidelines of the 48th Regular Meeting of CARICOM Heads of Government, the Secretary-General of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS), H.E. Noemí Espinoza Madrid, met with Serge Letchimy, President of the Executive Council of Martinique, to discuss key regional priorities.
Secretary-General Espinoza Madrid acknowledged Martinique's strong commitment as an Associate Member of the ACS, highlighting its active participation in meetings and initiatives, which has enhanced the visibility of Associate Members' contributions to the organization.
President Letchimy reaffirmed Martinique’s engagement with the ACS and advocated for greater participation of Associate Members in the Association’s undertakings. He also positioned Martinique as a bridge between Europe and the Caribbean.
In light of current geopolitical challenges, President Letchimy emphasized the importance of fostering trade in services and developing models to address inequality.
Secretary-General Espinoza Madrid welcomed his perspective on Caribbean-France relations and underscored Martinique’s valuable role within the ACS. She assured him that the priorities expressed by Member and Associate Member States would be reflected in the ACS Strategic Plan.
