The ACS Secretary-General Meets with the Vice Minister of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela for the Caribbean

Bridgetown, Barbados — February 20, 2025 — The Secretary-General of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS), H.E. Noemí Espinoza Madrid, met with the Vice Minister of Venezuela for the Caribbean, Raúl Li Causi, on the sidelines of the 48th Ordinary Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of CARICOM in Bridgetown, Barbados.
During the meeting, Vice Minister Li Causi reiterated the support of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela for the Secretary-General's management and the ACS's mission in the region. He also highlighted the importance of revitalizing interest in the organization, emphasizing the key role of technology and other strategic issues on the regional agenda, as well as the need for greater integration of the Eastern Caribbean in ACS initiatives.
For her part, the ACS Secretary-General reaffirmed the association's commitment to the unity and solidarity of the peoples of the Greater Caribbean as fundamental pillars for addressing current challenges. She emphasized that the ACS must consolidate its role as a platform for regional cooperation, especially on environmental issues.
The meeting facilitated the exchange of information on regional development and cooperation initiatives. Efforts to strengthen food security and sustainability in the region were highlighted, in line with the ACS's strategic objectives. Likewise, the commitment to review and enhance existing collaboration mechanisms was reaffirmed, exploring new opportunities for greater integration.
Looking ahead to the 10th ACS Summit of Heads of State, to be held in Colombia in May, this meeting underscores the importance of dialogue and cooperation between member countries to drive joint solutions for the sustainable development of the Greater Caribbean.
