The Association of Caribbean States (ACS) and the University of the West Indies (UWI) Discuss Opportunities for Collaboration

Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago – February 18, 2025 - The Association of Caribbean States (ACS) held a productive meeting at the University of the West Indies (UWI), an ACS Social Actor, to explore avenues for deeper collaboration.
ACS Secretary-General, H.E. Noemí Espinoza Madrid met with key representatives from UWI’s Institute of International Relations (IIR) and Diplomatic Academy of the Caribbean: Dr. Annita Montoute, Acting Director of the IIR, Dr. Nand C. Bardouille, Ph.D., Manager of the Diplomatic Academy of the Caribbean, Dr. Jacqueline Laguardia Martinez, Lecturer and Coordinator of the MPhil/PhD Programmes.
The discussions were focused on exchanging perspectives on institutional work programmes, reflecting on past collaborations, and identifying opportunities for future engagement. Secretary-General Espinoza emphasized her vision for the ACS, highlighting the organization's commitment to fostering stronger regional cooperation and enhancing knowledge-sharing mechanisms with leading academic institutions such as UWI.
Under the leadership of SG Noemí Espinoza, the process of revitalising the ACS will continue to achieve a stronger, more strategic Great Caribbean that contributes to improving the regional context with presence and impact on the global stage.
