Key Meeting Between ACS and Spain During the CARICOM Conference

Bridgetown, Barbados — February 20, 2025 — The Secretary-General of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS), H.E. Noemí Espinoza Madrid, recently met with the Ambassador of Spain on Special Mission for the Caribbean, Carlos de la Morena Casado, within the framework of the 48th Ordinary Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of CARICOM. This meeting provided a valuable opportunity to strengthen cooperation between both regions, allowing them to more effectively address common challenges.

Within this context, the issue of gender emerged as a central point of discussion. Its relevance to both the ACS and Spain was highlighted, underscoring the need to develop initiatives that promote gender equity. This approach reflects a shared commitment towards the social advancement of the region.

Secretary-General Espinoza Madrid and Ambassador de la Morena Casado reaffirmed their commitment to work together to face the challenges facing the region and strengthen the ties of cooperation between the ACS and Spain.
