AEC reitera su rechazo al bloqueo económico en encuentro con viceministra de Cuba
El Secretario General de la Asociación de Estados del Caribe (AEC), Rodolfo Sabonge, se reunió con la viceministra primera del Ministerio de Comercio Exterior y la Inversión Extranjera (MINCEX) de Cuba, Ana Teresita González Fraga.
Durante la conversación, Sabonge y González Fraga examinaron minuciosamente el impacto negativo que ha tenido el embargo económico, comercial y financiero impuesto a Cuba desde 1960, afectando diversos sectores y obstaculizando el progreso del país.
En este contexto, la AEC reafirmó su rechazo hacia el bloqueo económico impuesto a Cuba, el cual ha sido repetido en sus sucesivas Cumbres de Jefes de Estado y/o de Gobierno, recalcando su influencia en el acceso a recursos y obstaculizando el crecimiento sostenible de la nación.
También, ambos líderes debatieron posibles mecanismos de cooperación que contribuyan a mitigar los impactos adversos que enfrenta Cuba en este complejo escenario.
