H.E. Ambassador Noemí Espinoza of Honduras Elected Secretary General of the Association of Caribbean States
H.E. Ambassador Noemí Espinoza of Honduras will officially assume office as the 8th Secretary General. on January 1, 2025, succeeding H.E. Rodolfo Sabonge, whose leadership has strengthened the ACS's mission to promote regional cooperation and development across the Greater Caribbean.

The ACS Brings Together Leaders and Experts at COP16 on best practices for addressing Coastal Erosion in the Greater Caribbean
In the margins of the COP 16 hosted by Colombia, which also holds the chairmanship of of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS), the ACS Secretariat convened a dynamic exchange on the topic “Preserving the Biodiversity of the Greater Caribbean: United Against Coastal Erosion. The event brought together state and civil society leaders and experts from across the region to discuss efforts and initiatives to conserve biodiversity and mitigate coastal erosion in the Greater Caribbean, examining country case studies that have enjoyed success. The event took place on October 28, 2024, in Cali, Colombia with the support of CAF Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean

ACS hosts Workshop to conclude Phase 1 of the Sandy Shorelines Project
In the framework of its 30th Anniversary, the Association of Caribbean States (ACS) hosted a workshop to conclude Phase 1 of the "Impact Assessment of Climate Change on the Sandy Shorelines of the Caribbean," also known as the ACS Sandy Shorelines Project. The event took place on October 16-17, 2024, in Trinidad and Tobago. The project, aimed at improving resilience in coastal communities, focused on establishing a regional erosion monitoring network and promoting best practices for beach rehabilitation. The project was made possible by funding from the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and support of the Korean Institute of Oceanic Science and Technology (KIOST).

Cartagena Hosts the Commemorative Colloquium for the 30th Anniversary of the ACS
The University of Cartagena, in collaboration with the International Institute of Caribbean Studies, the Port Society of Cartagena, and the Spanish Cooperation Agency, organized the Colloquium titled "30 Years of the Association of Caribbean States" in Colombia. The colloquium took place at the Spanish Cooperation Center located in Cartagena on October 16 and 17, 2024.
