The Association of Caribbean States Celebrates 29 Years of Regional Cooperation
The Association of Caribbean States (ACS) commemorated its 29th anniversary on July 27, 2023. The event took place at the ACS Secretariat in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. It featured H.E. Rodolfo Sabonge, the ACS Secretary General; Rita Toussaint, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs; H.E. Tania Diego Olite, Ambassador of Cuba to Trinidad and Tobago and Head of the Diplomatic Corps; and the Professor Winston Dookeran, Secretary General of Euclid University.

ACS attends Caribbean Regional Workshop to integrate Climate Action and Disaster Risk Reduction
The first Caribbean Regional workshop on Integrated Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation took place in Port of Spain, Trinidad on July 11th and 12th, 2023. Organized by the UNDRR and UNFCCC, the workshop aimed to enhance understanding of the relationship between disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation in the Caribbean region.

ACS, CARICOM, SICA and SELA meet to establish common priorities for a joint program
H.E. Dr. Carla N. Barnett, referred to the establishment of CARICOM as an organization to seek closer relations in the Caribbean region. "As a region, we need to understand that we are more similar than we are different, that we are only divided because of the colonial experience," she emphasized.

The Association of Caribbean States (ACS) signs MoU with the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries of the Republic of Korea on sustainable development of the marine environment.
The Secretary General of the ACS, Rodolfo Sabonge, and the Director General for International Cooperation Bureau of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries of the Republic of Korea, Man-wook HEO, signed a Memorandum of Understanding in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, on July 4th.

ACS discusses cooperation with the Representative of Singapore to CARICOM
H.E. Rodolfo Sabonge, Secretary General of the ACS States, met with H.E. Karen Tan, Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Singapore to CARICOM. The meeting discussed possible measures to address, through cooperation, the major challenges facing the Caribbean region, such as the lack of connectivity and the effects of climate change.
