The ACS and SELA Strengthen Ties to Advance Regional Integration and Sustainable Development

Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago – The Secretary-General of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS), Her Excellency Noemí Espinoza Madrid, held a productive meeting with His Excellency Clarems Endara, Permanent Secretary of the Latin American and Caribbean Economic System (SELA), on January 20, 2025.
During the meeting, both leaders emphasized the importance of fostering close ties and coordinated efforts between their organizations to avoid duplication and maximize the impact of actions in the region.
Recognizing the shared vision of the ACS and SELA in promoting regional cooperation and sustainable development in Latin America and the Caribbean, it was highlighted that both institutions have significant potential to establish strategic linkages. These connections will serve as a foundation for collaborative efforts to address common challenges and opportunities across the region.
As part of the discussions, Secretary-General Espinoza and Secretary Endara agreed to build upon the progress achieved through inter-secretariat meetings. This collaboration aims to advance the construction of a unified regional agenda that strengthens integration, fosters sustainable development, and elevates the voice of the Greater Caribbean on the global stage.
