Secretary General of the ACS attends Caribbean Tourism Organization Board of Directors Meeting in New York
Port of Spain (June 28th, 2011) – Secretary General of the Association of Caribbean States Ambassador Luis Fernando Andrade Falla attended the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) Board of Directors Meeting in New York, which took place on June 9th, 2011.
The meeting was attended by Directors of Tourism from CTO Member Countries, representatives from the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association, the Florida Caribbean Cruise Association, CTO Allied Members, CTO Chapters, the Airlines, and Affiliate members, including IICA and the OAS.
The Secretary General was invited to address the CTO Board in New York, where he discussed the advancement of the Caribbean Cruise Ship Destination in which the CARICOM countries have expressed interest and follow up and more active participation in this process.
He further took the opportunity to meet with two Cruise Ship operators of the Tourism Private Sector to exchange views of possible agendas and forging cooperation.
The Secretary General of ACS discussed ways to improve links with the tourism private sector represented at the meeting and strengthen CTO ACS common agendas.
