What If… Transportation Within The Caribbean Was No Longer An Issue” Panel Discussion

Director Safiya Horne-Bique of the Directorate for Trade and Sustainable development, participated in the panel discussion ‘What if… Transportation within the Caribbean was no longer an issue” hosted by the OECS Sustainable Development Movement Ambassador Sabrina Ajax of ASIS W.I. Throughout the discussion, panelist took the opportunity to contextualize the current transport trajectory and identify ways to improve transport within the region. Panelists pointed out the need for increased cooperation, the need for development in the passenger air transport access by creating networks and synergies among airlines within the region, and policies and frameworks that would position the transport system to support development and increased movement of persons. The panel discussion was concluded with The OECS inviting persons to continue to engage in discussions and reach out to the organization to begin building transport.
