The Secretariat of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS) congratulate the Government and People of Trinidad and Tobago on the occasion of the commemoration of their independence which was won some 60 years ago on August 31st, 1962.

ACS acknowledges the invaluable contribution of Trinidad and Tobago to the work of the Association as a Member State and host of the ACS Secretariat Headquarters. Trinidad and Tobago’s warm embrace of the Secretariat as the home of its 35 Members- states and territories- and the Secretariat’s over thirty staff members, is truly appreciated, and speaks to the commitment of Trinidad and Tobago to promoting regional cooperation and integration. 

We hope that we will continue to work together to achieve common development goals and overcome the shared challenges that our Region confronts, particularly, as we forge ahead, overcoming the unprecedented challenges that have marked the last decade or more, to strengthen consultation, cooperation and concerted action.

We look forward to the continued support of Trinidad and Tobago as we prepare for the 9th Summit of the ACS, 2023.
