This significant milestone, commemorating the convening of the inaugural Parliament under the Republican Constitution on September 24th, 1976, serves as a proud symbol of the nation's sovereign trajectory. It is an opportunity to reflect on the remarkable progress Trinidad and Tobago has made since becoming a Republic, with a steadfast commitment to development and regional cooperation.
As the host nation for the ACS headquarters, Trinidad and Tobago has provided invaluable leadership and support in fostering collaboration and unity throughout the Greater Caribbean. The Secretary General looks forward to continued cooperation in pursuing shared goals of sustainable development, climate resilience, and connectivity for the region.
