Videoconference: Innovation and Certification for Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET)
The Association of Caribbean States (ACS), through the Directorate of Sustainable Tourism (DST) developed the Videoconference: Innovation and Certification for Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET), held at the ACS Secretariat in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago on 10th October 2018. The following ACS Member States registered to participate in this Videoconference: Antigua and Barbuda, the Republic of Colombia, the Republic of Costa Rica, the Commonwealth of Dominica, the Republic of El Salvador, the Republic of Honduras, Mexico, the Republic of Nicaragua, the Republic of Panama, the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, as well as the Inter American & Caribbean Network of Small Hotels (INCAPH).
Among the presenters in this workshop were: Ms. Tanya Amaya, Advisor of the Directorate of Sustainable Tourism, Mr. Cuauhtémoc Novello, Representative of the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI) and Mr. Juan Miguel Moreno, Representative of the Spanish Association of Scientific Experts in Tourism (AECIT), who discussed topics such as:
- Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Regional Framework;
- The Importance of Professional Certifications in the Tourism Industry; and
- Innovation on Training for the Strengthening of Labour Skills in the Tourism Sector
