About Saba (The Netherlands)
Saba is one of three special municipalities of the Netherlands and it is the smallest of the three with a population of only 1991 (2013) and a land area of 13 square kilometres. The other three special municipalities are Bonaire and St. Eustatius. In comparison with other Caribbean islands, Saba is quite new to tourism with less than 25,000 people visiting the country each year. However, this can be an advantage for this country as some visitors prefer a quiet, peaceful and eco-tourism destination. Saba also thrives on agriculture including livestock and vegetables, particularly potatoes.
