About Barbados
Barbados is the most easterly of the Caribbean islands and is 320 kilometres to the north-east of Trinidad. The capital is Bridgetown. Services dominate the economy, particularly financial services and tourism, but sugar and rum production and manufacturing are also important.
Industry (Manufacturing, Construction, Electricity, Gas and Water) represents 20.6% of employment, Agriculture (includes, forestry and fishing) represents 4% and Services 77.4%. Industry accounts for 14.9% of the GDP, while Agriculture accounts for 2.42% and Services 76.9%.
